The Land Commission Specialist will support the accounting team in all collections functions for land commissions. Administers and executes processes, including checking, verifying, and maintaining accounting and commissions records, managing incoming documents, data entry and input tasks, account reconciliations, report generation, internal and external client support.

 

The salary range on this job posting/advertising has been developed to give applicants a wide range to comply with pay transparency laws in all states and geographical areas.  Many factors, such as years of experience, geographical location, budget etc. are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.  The salary range posted represents the pay range for U.S. candidates.  If the job posting indicates that the role is available for international candidate consideration, the salary range will be based on the local market for the country where the candidate would be working.

 

This role may be eligible for an incentive, commission, bonus, or a discretionary bonus program based on the company’s financial goal achievement and individual performance.

Responsibilities

  • Deposit and reconcile checks
  • Review vendor receivable unclaimed commissions report on a weekly basis and request additional booking details from the suppliers and (or) advisors, if necessary.
  • Monitor Land Commission Service Desk and make sure all tickets are closed timely
  • Allocate vendor commission payments to correct vendor receivable accounts, customers, and travel advisors timely and accurately.
  • Posts cash receipts to the correct division, account, and invoice timely and accurately.
  • Balances daily cash receipt input files to bank deposits totals including wires, ACHs, check deposits and credit card payments to ensure completeness.
  • Confers with customers, vendors and travel advisors on short-paid balances, unidentified payments, and possible process enhancements.
  • Partners with the team and management by quickly bringing issues to their attention, working to understand the root cause, and offering potential solutions.
  • May assist in other land functions and special projects as time and workload permits.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications

 

  • 1-3 years of experience with basic accounting function
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Intermediate to Advance Excel Skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 2- or 4-year degree in finance or accounting preferred but not required
  • Experience in Agresso and NetSuite a plus
  • Knowledge of the travel industry
