Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Sales is a strategic and inspirational leader responsible for driving the acquisition of new independent travel advisors into the Nexion Travel Group network in both the U.S. and Canada. This role combines hands-on recruitment with leadership oversight, ensuring high performance across a team of Sales Specialists. The Senior Manager will develop innovative recruitment strategies, strengthen Nexion’s presence across trade and digital channels, and optimize the advisor acquisition pipeline to support the organization’s long-term growth.

 

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Sales Specialists to achieve and exceed monthly and annual advisor acquisition targets.
  • Establish team goals, KPIs, and performance standards; oversee reporting and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide ongoing training, role-play coaching, and skill development in consultative selling, qualifying, and pipeline .

 

Recruitment Strategy & Pipeline Growth

  • Create and execute innovative strategies to attract new independent travel advisors, leveraging both traditional and digital channels.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications to design recruitment campaigns, messaging, and lead generation initiatives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and industry trends to inform business development/ sales strategies
  • Manage end-to-end pipeline performance, ensuring lead quality, velocity, and conversion optimization.

 

Direct Sales Execution & Advisor Acquisition

  • Engage directly with inbound and outbound prospects through calls, emails, demos, and tradeshows.
  • Present the benefits of Nexion membership in webinars, virtual demos, and at trade events.
  • Follow up diligently with prospects, nurture long-term opportunities, and drive them toward close and onboarding.
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage leads, forecast activity, and ensure accurate reporting

 

Trade Events, Partnerships & Brand Presence

  • Represent Nexion Travel Group at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to attract new advisor prospects.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with supplier partners, training organizations, and industry communities to generate new recruitment opportunities.
  • Coordinate internal departments to ensure consistent brand messaging and high-impact presence at industry events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 18 months as a Nexion sales specialist OR equivalent experience in sales leadership within the travel industry
  • Proven experience leading, coaching and developing a high performing sales team
  • Ability to anticipate trends, identify growth opportunities and align team efforts with organizational goals
  • Demonstrated ability to set clear expectations, manage performance, and drive team outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong active listening/qualifying skills.
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge and experience using Salesforce.com & Microsoft Office.
  • Analytical and reporting skills
  • Web-based presentation skills a plus, experience with online presentation execution preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for recruiting events and shows
