Responsibilities

JOB OVERVIEW

As a lead agent, this role includes ensuring that all team members understand the client’s processes and policies, managing disaster recovery during office hours, and addressing client concerns. The lead consultant also liaises between ALTOUR and the client, attends client meetings, and ensures effective communication within the team. Responsibilities extend to delegating tasks, assisting other agents on the team, ensuring proper use of the email system, and maintaining a positive team environment. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Booking all aspects of business travel including flights, rail, hotel, and ground transport using Sabre
  • Providing a consultative approach and ensuring all VIP travelers/Executive Assistants receive prompt responses to calls and emails.
  • Managing travel projects which could vary from individual reservations to block space on groups.
  • Responsible for handling the enquiry from start to finish, including searching for a range of fares (ALTOUR negotiated fares and client route deals) and travel options and presenting these to the client.
  • Exploring and researching everything from low-cost options through to round the world itineraries.
  • Managing each booking, ensuring all client profile details are taken into account and any necessary visa requirements advised. 
  • Offering alternative options to the client within their policy for group travel.
  • Ensure the agents, new and established, understand the processes and policies for each group movement.
  • Staff training – If you deem any member of your team requires training on any aspect please consult with the Operations Manager and Training Manager
  • Disaster Recovery – Running of spectra’s for disasters during office hours
  • Client queries & complaints - Escalate to Operations Manager/Account Manager/Head of Operations as required
  • Amending client MI error reports
  • Liaison between the ALTOUR, and the group leader/travel manager.
  • Attend meetings with the client via Teams, in the ALTOUR office or in person if needed.
  • Communication - ensure a flow of communication and information is maintained throughout the team and across all departments. Maintain a positive mindset and environment for the team
  • Ensure the team are logged into the phones and available for calls.
  • Monitor and ensure emails are responded to and the team are using the email system correctly
  • Monitor the team’s workload - Delegate and distribute any work as and when necessary to help with the team’s performance.

 

 

 

Qualifications

REQURIEMENTS

  • Knowledgeable of Sabre - Native
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a TMC.
  • Knowledge of block space bookings requirements.
  • Knowledge of Trainline and other rail group space would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of technology products, including Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Possess good geographical and product knowledge of destinations and airlines.
  • Good organisational skills and excellent customer service & communicative abilities are essential.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and keen attention to detail.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and guidance to our clients.
  • Flexible approach and desire to think ‘outside of the box’ to provide innovative travel solutions in times of increased stress for our clients

The salary range for this role has been developed to give applicants a range based on the local market where the candidate would be working.  Many factors, such as years of experience, budget etc. are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. 

 

This role may be eligible for an incentive, commission, bonus, or a discretionary bonus program based on the company’s financial goal achievement and individual performance.
