Responsibilities

 

We are looking for an IT Business Analyst with strong QA mindset to join our development team. This role is critical in improving the quality of requirements, reducing ambiguity, and ensuring that delivered solutions meet business expectations before reaching customers.

You will act as a bridge between internal developers and external stakeholders (customers and their Business Analysts), ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality across all tasks.

 

 

Requirements Analysis & Refinement

  • Analyze and clarify requirements coming from customers or external BAs
  • Transform high-level requests into well-defined user stories
  • Define clear acceptance criteria and business rules
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and edge cases early
  • Ensure tasks meet Definition of Ready (DoR) before development

 

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Participate in calls with customers and their BAs to understand needs
  • Act as a translator between business language and technical implementation
  • Manage follow-ups and requirement clarifications
  • Align expectations between stakeholders and development team

 

Backlog Management

  • Maintain clean, structured, and prioritized backlog
  • Break down large or complex tasks into manageable pieces
  • Identify dependencies and risks
  • Support sprint planning and estimation activities

 

Test Design & Functional Validation

  • Define test scenarios and test cases before development starts
  • Cover happy paths, edge cases, and negative scenarios
  • Validate that acceptance criteria are testable and complete
  • Perform functional testing before delivery to customers (pre-UAT validation)

 

Quality Assurance Support

  • Ensure delivered features meet defined requirements
  • Reduce defects reaching UAT by early validation
  • Collaborate with developers to clarify expected behavior
  • Support customers during UAT when needed

 

Process Improvement & Standardization

  • Help define and enforce:
  • Definition of Ready (DoR)
  • Definition of Done (DoD)
  • Requirement templates and best practices
  • Standardize how tasks are documented across different customers
  • Continuously improve workflows and communication

 

Documentation

  • Create and maintain:
  • Functional documentation
  • Process flows and diagrams
  • Decision logs
  • Ensure knowledge is documented and accessible

 

Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and analyze:
  • Requirement quality issues
  • Defect leakage (pre vs post UAT)
  • Rework causes
  • Propose improvements based on data

 

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as Business Analyst or similar role
  • Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (Agile/Scrum)
  • Experience working with Jira or similar tools
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

 

QA / Testing Skills (Required)

  • Experience designing test cases and test scenarios
  • Strong attention to detail and edge case thinking
  • Experience with functional testing and UAT support
  • Understanding of QA principles and best practices

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders or clients
  • Technical background (basic understanding of APIs, databases, or architecture)
  • Experience with test management tools
  • Knowledge of automation testing (basic level is a plus)

The salary range on this job posting/advertising has been developed to give applicants a range based on the local market where the candidate would be working.  Many factors, such as years of experience, budget etc. are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. 

 

This role may be eligible for an incentive, commission, bonus, or a discretionary bonus program based on the company’s financial goal achievement and individual performance.
