Responsibilities

JOB OVERVIEW:

ALTOUR is a global travel management company delivering innovative, technology-driven solutions for corporate travel. Our mission is to deliver exceptional travel experiences through innovative technology, personalized service, and seamless, end-to-end solutions that empower our clients to travel smarter and more efficiently.

We are seeking a Development Manager to lead a small development team supporting ALTOUR’s internal systems and customer-facing applications, including portal solutions. This role is primarily a people and delivery leadership position with a strong technical foundation. The ideal candidate can lead developers, run Agile delivery, improve delivery discipline, partner with business and technical stakeholders, and remain technically engaged enough to guide architecture, unblock delivery, and support engineering standards when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage a team of developers responsible for supporting, enhancing, and delivering ALTOUR’s internal business systems and enterprise customer-facing applications.
  • Own team delivery, sprint execution, and Agile operating rhythms, including planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, retrospectives, acceptance criteria, test planning, risk identification, dependency visibility, and status reporting.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to prioritize work, clarify requirements, translate business needs into delivery plans, and deliver high-impact solutions aligned to business outcomes.
  • Provide technical leadership across .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, Blazor, APIs, Azure, DevOps, and front-end development, ensuring work aligns with architecture, coding standards, maintainability, security, and delivery priorities.
  • Reinforce practical engineering standards across source control, code review, testing, CI/CD, release readiness, documentation, production support, and operational stability.
  • Champion secure development and DevSecOps practices by incorporating secure coding, dependency review, vulnerability remediation, exception handling, and security scanning tools such as Snyk or similar platforms into normal development workflows.
  • Lead responsible adoption of approved AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude/Claude Code where approved, or similar tools, to improve coding, refactoring, troubleshooting, documentation, testing, and delivery productivity.
  • Ensure AI-generated code, requirements, test cases, documentation, and review suggestions are treated as drafts and are reviewed, validated, tested, and aligned to team standards before merge or release.
  • Use AI-supported insights and team delivery metrics to identify blockers, technical debt, quality gaps, test coverage needs, modernization opportunities, and ways to improve sprint predictability.
  • Coach and develop team members, fostering a high-performance, accountable engineering culture focused on continuous improvement, secure engineering practices, business impact, and reliable delivery.

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • Predictable sprint delivery with clear priorities, visible risks, and improved team accountability.
  • Stronger backlog quality, acceptance criteria, estimation discipline, and delivery reporting.
  • Improved engineering quality through consistent code review, testing, documentation, DevOps, and secure development practices.
  • Practical adoption of AI-assisted development tools that improves productivity without bypassing human review, QA, security, change management, or production-readiness controls.
  • Strong collaboration with business stakeholders, shared services, InfoSec, DevOps, and adjacent technical teams.
  • A development team that is well-coached, accountable, technically credible, and focused on measurable business value.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a Development Manager, Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or Lead Developer role with direct people management or formal team leadership responsibility.
  • 5+ years of software development experience, preferably in full-stack enterprise application environments.
  • 2+ years leading developers, managing engineering delivery, mentoring technical staff, or owning team execution outcomes.
  • Strong background in Agile delivery and team leadership, with a focus on execution, prioritization, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
  • Solid technical foundation in .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, Azure cloud services, APIs and integrations, relational databases, and DevOps / CI-CD practices.
  • Experience leading or guiding full-stack development teams working on internal enterprise applications, customer-facing portals, APIs, or business-critical integrations.
  • Ability to lead first while remaining technically credible and hands-on when needed to guide architecture, troubleshoot issues, review technical decisions, or unblock delivery.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills with professional English proficiency.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Blazor as a primary or significant front-end framework; React or Angular experience is a plus.
  • Experience modernizing legacy applications, reducing technical debt, improving maintainability, or strengthening application supportability.
  • Experience with secure SDLC practices, DevSecOps, Snyk or similar security tooling, vulnerability management, and secure coding expectations.
  • Experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jira, CI/CD pipelines, pull request workflows, and release governance.
  • Experience delivering customer-facing portals or enterprise applications that support business operations, user engagement, integrations, and scalable digital experiences.
  • Familiarity with API design, RESTful services, service-layer architecture, authentication, authorization, RBAC, SSO, or enterprise identity patterns.
  • Experience working with hybrid teams, distributed teams, contractor resources, or cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with approved AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot, including responsible review, validation, and quality-control practices.
  • Travel industry experience is a plus.

Why Join

  • Lead a high-impact, growing engineering team supporting both internal and customer-facing digital solutions.
  • Help shape team culture, delivery practices, technical standards, and secure engineering discipline.
  • Work on business-critical applications that improve operational efficiency, client experience, and ALTOUR’s digital capabilities.
  • Influence the responsible use of AI-assisted development practices in a practical, quality-focused engineering environment.
  • If you’re a leader who excels at managing teams, driving Agile delivery, improving engineering quality, and delivering business value, we’d love to hear from you.
